Everything is going according to plan. Over the past year, Salmon Evolution has appointed seven key personnel who will take care of and administer their specialist fields. Overall, we now have a well-equipped team of 10 who will be working to realise Europe’s largest land-based fish farm. During the summer, we will be presenting our personnel – who are all hugely motivated to contribute to a more sustainable development.
Julianne Farstad Strand
As chief financial officer, Julianne’s attention will be fully concentrated on the first construction stage. After that, an important part of her job will be to help put financing for the investment in place through investors and lenders. In addition to helping build our team, Julianne is working to become better acquainted with the aquaculture sector.
Finance is also about sustainability
The world needs more protein. Salmon faming on land will supplement conventional aquaculture along the Norwegian coast. “I’ll contribute to achieving profitable operation of the facility when it’s operational,” Julianne says.
“A successful land-based plant will reduce the burden on our coastal areas. At the same time, we’ll be producing salmon which have good health – and confergood health. That’s rewarding.”
Julianne has long wanted to work in a company with local entrenchment, and is now part of a team where she is learning a lot while helping to build a company from the ground up. “The fact that I’m also able to contribute to value creation through innovation and sustainable salmon farming is a big plus,” she says. “This job is spot-on for me.”
